Help Save Ropetackle Arts Centre

We’re there! Within just a month of launching the “Save Ropetackle” appeal, we have raised the £20,000 needed to resolve both our cash flow crisis, and our budget deficit.

A huge ‘thank you’ to everybody who donated or attended a Save Ropetackle event.

What this means is that Ropetackle is secure for this financial year. And most importantly, we are now in a strong position to persuade the Council to continue to provide funding for the future, and to obtain Arts Council funding.

We are currently working closely with the members of the Council Panel which is undertaking a review of our funding, having provided them with extensive information about the success of Ropetackle since it opened 4 years ago.

The serious threat to Ropetackle’s future and the decision of the Council to undertake the review, has resulted in a considerable unexpected benefit – the demonstration of the Centre’s importance to so many people, evident from the wave of vocal support, and, in particular, from the extraordinary generosity of several hundred donors.

In the current economic climate, the fact that so many people have made donations , is quite remarkable.

We, the trustees, staff and volunteers, have been overwhelmed by your support, which has made us even more committed to ensuring Ropetackle’s future. Indeed, we are filled with renewed optimism. We have been touched by the goodwill and generosity shown towards Ropetackle by people from Adur, Sussex and across the UK.

We will be reporting, in due course, on the outcome of the Council review.

And, as promised at the open meeting on 4th October, once we are through this rather turbulent phase, we will hold another, celebratory meeting, early in 2012.

Special mention to Attila The Stockbroker for making such a huge contribution to our various Save Ropetackle campaign activities.
