30th May - Sister Queens (£10.00)
Play On Words Theatre Company Starts 8pm
Written and Performed by Miriam Cooper
The play follows the dynamic journey of two amazing women; The royal queens of the Tudor/ Stewart dynasties – Elizabeth 1st and Mary Queen of Scots.
It is a play of passion and treachery and one where we can witness the collision course, which these two sovereigns seemed unable to avoid. It is a tale that has ignited the imagination for centuries.
This is the British touring premier of “Sister Queens,” a one woman performance only previously seen in Greenwich, London as part of their hugely popular Summer exhibition entitled “Elizabeth”, where Miriam had the opportunity to work with Glenda Jackson and the historian David Starkey, appearing on the front page of a number of national newspapers.
