A fabulous one day music course for 50 young musicians aged 11 -14yrs
Do you or your band want to write new music, meet new people, try new instruments, and then after just eight hours perform on a fabulous stage at the Ropetackle with the assistance of the legendary bass player Herbie Flowers and his team of 9 top professionals from the world of rock, pop, folk, jazz and classical music, supported by the best sound engineers and lighting techs in the business? (All CRB checked.)
Herbie Flowers and his team will help you create and play music of your own choice in an environment of absolute acceptance and encouragement. There will also be short introductory performances by the tutors, workshops on improvisation, voice, drum, percussion and guitar techniques. Plus the opportunity to learn and play 6 ‘party standards’, cool 12 bar jams… Wind and string players, who shouldn’t be mislead by the title of this course, are especially welcome.
The course culminates with “The Rockshop Teatime Gig” at 5.30pm, a concert in which all participants share the spotlight in a public performance showcasing what they have achieved in just one day.
