23rd May - An Evening With Peter James (£8.00)
Starts 7.30pm
Peter James is one of the UK’s most successful crime writers and his bestselling novels have been translated into thirty languages. Born in Brighton, he is the son of Cornelia James, glove manufacturer to the Queen. Educated at Charterhouse and then at film school, Peter has run highly successful careers in both crime writing and film producing.
His novels reflect his deep interest in medicine, science and the world of the police. They are meticulously researched, leading him to spend time in Brighton and Hove mortuary; visiting Broadmoor; and working closely with the Brighton Police Serious Incidents team to get an authentic insight into how their investigations are carried out.
Peter’s film career has seen him producing a variety of successes, including the BAFTA nominated Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino.
His latest novel, Dead Man’s Footsteps, will be published in June. Peter will be in conversation with Peter Guttridge, author and crime fiction critic of The Observer.
Peter will be signing copies of his books after the event.
