11th July - Romp For Ropetackle (£6.00)
Starts 8pm
A Ceilidh* at the Ropetackle Arts Centre
This is a chance to dance the night away and support your local Arts Centre. Local duo The Rude Mechanicals have invited friends from the famous Brighton-based band The Taverners to join them to offer an evening of exuberance and entertainment.
No experience necessary! For anyone who hasn’t barn-danced before, this is a chance to leave your inhibitions at home and take to the floor. The Taverners’ caller, Peter Cartlidge, will explain all the moves for the dances. If you’ve never ‘stripped the willow’ in your life, you’ll an expert by the end of the evening.
For those who are experienced, prepare to put your best foot forward to jigs, reels and polkas from one of the finest folk bands in the South of England.
